Dr. Ricordi joined PBR HAWAII in 2015 and is well versed in the latest CAD, 3-D design application tools, and illustrative software, to efficiently develop and communicate design ideas and construction drawings. Dr. Ricordi’s current projects include managing the landscape design and construction at Kaiser Permanente Kapolei Medical Office and Kāʻanapali Beach Hotel Renovations as well as assisting on the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel renovation project and Maui Lani Parkway Improvements.
With experience in landscape maintenance, Dr. Ricordi brings a practical lens to all projects he works on. Prior projects he has worked on include the Town Center of Mililani Renovations, Ka Makana Ali‘i Shopping Center Phase 1, Bank of Hawaii Financial Plaza Landscape Renovations, Ho‘opili Street Trees Master Plan and Urban Agricultural Planning, and Mākena Golf Course and Beach Club Renovation.
Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, Dr. Ricordi attended graduate school at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, where he researched invasive species in landscape design and restoration of native coastal vegetation to mitigate beach erosion in Windward, Oʻahu. His Doctor of Architecture dissertation included pro-bono design, community engagement, and installation of a rain garden and wellness path at Blanche Pope Elementary School, which received the 2017 American Planning Association Student Project Award.
