At PBR HAWAII, Ms. Lau works on planning and design projects across the State of Hawaiʻi. She has experience working at State and local levels on a variety of projects including master planning, transportation planning, transit-oriented development, GIS analysis, community outreach, and site assessments. Her current projects include the Honolulu Harbor Master Plan, Waimea 400 Master Plan, Kauaʻi Bus Space Needs Assessment, and the Liliha Civic Center Master Plan.
Ms. Lau has a diverse professional background in education curriculum development, architecture, and urban planning, providing her with a unique perspective and a varied set of skills. Prior to joining PBR HAWAII, she worked for architectural firms in California and Colorado on master planning and architectural efforts. These efforts included facilities master planning for public and private schools, at K-12 and college-levels, for individual sites and entire districts. She has also worked on a facilities master plan for Hoag, a hospital in Newport, California. She has additional experience working at more granular levels doing site planning for schools and mixed-use centers in both urban and rural locations. She has a multitude of professional experience in community outreach and facilitation in planning and design, as well as in education curriculum development. Through her work in education curriculum development, she has worked across the State of Hawaiʻi including communities in Kekaha, Kauaʻi; Lānaʻi City, Lānaʻi; Kauanakakai, Molokaʻi; Honolulu, Waiʻanae, and Kahuku, Oʻahu; and Hilo, Hawaiʻi.
