With nine years of professional experience at PBR HAWAII, Ms. Shimono is a licensed Landscape Architect and aspires to design landscapes that are environmentally sustainable while meeting client satisfaction. Ms. Shimono supports PBR HAWAII’s landscape architectural and planning team with landscape design and drafting services, using the latest computer software such as Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD), Land FX, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign.
With experience in site analysis, planting and irrigation design, and site inspections, Ms. Shimono is currently working on a variety of commercial, residential, educational, and institutional projects such as the ʻAikahi Shopping Center Renovations, the Kāʻanapali Beach Hotel Landscape Renovations, the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, the Colony Peninsula Hawaiʻi Kai, ‘A‘ali‘i Condominium, Leeward Community College Waiʻanae Moku Campus, the Parking Lot Expansion at the University of Hawaiʻi West Oʻahu, and Nani Ulupau (planned residential development). Her assistance in irrigation design for the Kosasa Neighborhood Grades 4-5 Community at Punahou School contributed to its recognition by the Hawaiʻi Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects with the 2018 Professional Award of Excellence in General Design.
Ms. Shimono has also extensively assisted on completed projects like Kapolei Lofts, Ka Makana Aliʻi shopping center Phase 1, The Four Seasons Resort O‘ahu at Ko Olina, Phase 1student housing renovation at Brigham Young University – Hawaiʻi, Asia Pacific International School – Hawaiʻi Campus, Central Maui Regional Park, Hanahauʻoli School, Hawaiʻi Island Humane Society Phases 1 and 2, and the Board of Water Supply Hālawa Gardens.
