Kalei Perkins

Graphic Director

With over five years of graphic design and digital illustration experience, Ms. Perkins is a well-rounded creative who has worked on a variety of projects in Hawai‘i, New York, and Italy. During her year at the Instituto Lorenzo De Medici (LdM) School of Design in Florence, its curriculum promoted an intercultural and transdisciplinary dialogue that guided students from beginning to advanced areas of study. At the advanced level, Ms. Perkins developed the ability to make strategic decisions in professional contexts, read market trends, and formulate dynamic, effective and successful designs while building her professional portfolio. Ms. Perkins’ specialized areas include logo & brand identity, editorial design, minimalist illustration, and presentation graphics.

At PBR HAWAII she employs her skills in the production of architectural illustrations and renderings, graphic planning-based reports, and displays for physical and online presentation materials. Recent and ongoing projects include design work for Turtle Bay Resort Signage Renovation Project, West Kaua‘i Community Plan, the Ocean Resources Management Plan Update with the State of Hawai‘i Office of Planning, and community outreach for the Ala Wai Bridge Alternatives Analysis, winner of the 2019 Public Education and Outreach Award from the American Planning Association (APA) Hawai‘i Chapter.

Before joining PBR HAWAII, Ms. Perkins was a graphic designer for the Mdrn. Group, a vertically integrated real estate firm focused on innovative residential services ranging from investment and development, sales and leasing, management, and residential technology. At the Mdrn. Group, Ms. Perkins designed a variety of marketing materials for real estate projects that included building postcards, listing pamphlets, and posters, aimed at bridging the gap between New York City real estate and Millennial buyers. She also worked on several luxury properties by independently creating brand identities for ‘66 Pearl’ a luxury residential condominium in the Financial District as well as ‘29 East 64th Street’ in Lennox Hill.

Ms. Perkins’ graduate work in marketing communications complements her background in the graphic design field. Her graduate studies include course work and case studies in Public Relations Management, Brand Management, Marketing Foundations, Global Consumer Insights, Social Media Strategies & Tactics, and Marking Research. Ms. Perkins’ master capstone involved the design and implementation of a fully integrated marking campaign strategy for an American agricultural cooperative that emphasized the dual power of user-generated content in social media and other online profiles with experiential marketing.
