As a Principal at PBR HAWAII, Mr. Shigekuni is involved in a variety of large scale land planning projects that include the preparation of master plans, land use entitlement applications and overseeing County and State agency review and approvals.

Besides Land Planning, Campus Planning, Land Use Entitlement Processing and Project Management skills, Mr. Shigekuni has taken a personal interest in transit-oriented development (TOD) through his work on the proposed 11,750-unit Ho‘opili TOD project, and the UH West O‘ahu Urban Design Plan. He has attended many HART meetings and the Neighborhood TOD Plan meetings for Waipahu, East Kapolei, Aiea-Pearl City, Kalihi and Downtown, and is the Principal-in-Charge on a contract with the City and County of Honolulu for TOD Educational Outreach. He has also attended the last two RailVolution Conferences (in Portland and Washington, D.C.), and has lived in and visited many TOD locations around the world.
