Holomua

PBR HAWAII completed a Final Environmental Assessment with a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for Holomua, a residential condominium at 1315 Kalākaua Avenue. The completed 23-story, building includes 176 one- and two-bedroom units above a structured parking podium. Holomua provides affordable and workforce housing in urban Honolulu, thus allowing home ownership in close proximity to jobs and urban amenities such as shopping, public transportation, parks, schools, employment centers, childcare facilities, and activity centers. This close proximity to jobs and services reduces Holomua residents’ reliance on automobiles for daily needs.

THM Partners LLC received approvals for Holomua under Chapter 201H, Hawai‘i Revised Statutes (HRS), which allows for design flexibility and cost savings to facilitate the development of affordable housing. PBR HAWAII incorporated the 201H application into the Environmental Assessment to allow for a coordinated public review period and the opportunity to comment comprehensively on the project in its entirety.
