First Hawaiian Bank, Kailua Branch

PBR HAWAII’s role as landscape architect for the First Hawaiian Bank renovation in Kailua was threefold. The first was to develop a plant palette and design which embraced the relaxed atmosphere of Kailua Town, while also adhering to associations of First Hawaiian Bank of being an inviting, familiar, stable, and well established institution in Hawai‘i. The second role was to tastefully incorporate an existing archeological site into the landscape design, while being respectful to those buried and their families. The third role was to preserve and incorporate the existing Monkey Pod and True Kamani trees into the landscape design.
