PBR HAWAII designed a shoreline park on approximately 157 acres of the coastal portion of the Hōkūli‘a community in South Kona, Hawai‘i. The park follows various Historic Preservation Plans approved by the State Historic Preservation Department. The park includes: 1) a network of interpretive trails traversing between archaeological sites; 2) rest areas with picnic tables and benches at view vistas; 3) an orientation area with an information kiosk; 4) public restrooms; 5) an access road; and 6) public parking. The design includes the removal of overgrown and invasive vegetation to restore views and improve visibility of interpretive sites. PBR HAWAII was responsible for the conceptual design through construction documentation for this project.
