King Kalākaua Plaza Renovation

PBR HAWAII prepared and processed an Environmental Assessment and a Special District permit (Minor) for the renovation of the King Kalākaua Plaza, a vacant building and surrounding grounds in Waikīkī on the block bounded by Kalākaua Avenue, Kālaimoku Street, Kūhiō Avenue, and ‘Olohana Street. The building was formerly home to Nike Town, Banana Republic, and The All Star Café, a sports restaurant and bar. In 2009, the last of these anchor tenants moved out, and since then the building has been vacant.

The existing restaurant/retail building is proposed to be renovated for use as a hotel, with hotel-related retail uses on the ground floor. As part of its work PBR HAWAII prepared all required documents and presented the project to the Waikīkī neighborhood board.
