PBR HAWAII used GIS to assess potential Important Agriculture Lands (IAL) lands against IAL determination criteria and created a series of cartographic exhibits to illustrate the selected final IAL lands. The GIS exhibits and the associated assessment report were incorporated into the IAL petition prepared by Parker Ranch’s attorney and submitted to LUC to formally designate the lands as IAL. Based on this work, the State Land Use Commission approved the designation of approximately 56,770 acres of Parker Ranch’s lands to IAL.
