
Landscape Designer
Ms. Fernandes joined PBR HAWAII in 2024 and currently assists the landscape architectural team with her expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and LandF/X. Her passion for art and ecology led her to pursue landscape architecture, where she combines these interests daily. Ms. Fernandes is committed to designing landscapes founded on principles of equity and ecological stewardship.
Before joining PBR HAWAII, she worked at the University of Hawaiʻi Community Design Center (UHCDC), contributing to various projects through research, site analysis, programming, and design production. Her notable project contributions include the community participatory design for the Waikīkī Resilience & SLR Adaptation Project (WRAP) and the Proof-of-Concept Design for ʻAʻala Park. She also served as a teaching assistant for World Architecture & Urbanism at UH Mānoa’s School of Architecture, utilizing her background in Art History.
Ms. Fernandes gained valuable experience through internships with local design firms and environmental organizations, including NYC Parks & Recreation and Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, which fostered her dedication to enhancing public spaces through green infrastructure. Her graduate capstone project, “On the Edge: Mitigating Risk and Encouraging Stewardship in Hawai‘i’s Pyrocene,” continues as a partnership with Hawai‘i Wildfire Management Organization and Surfrider, supporting Lahaina homeowners with revegetation efforts post-wildfire.
