Landscape Designer
Lynn Mayekawa, who joined PBR HAWAII in 2025, is a landscape designer whose work combines her passion for art and ecology. She uses technical software like Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and LandF/X to assist the design team. Her professional goals focus on mitigating environmental impacts and designing spaces that are consequential, equitable, engaging, performative, and respectful of traditional ecological knowledge.
Prior to joining PBR HAWAII, she worked at the University of Hawaiʻi Department of Art and Art History, supporting faculty, staff, and students as Facility Manager. She also worked on projects through the university’s Community Design Center (UHCDC), including team support on research, design, and illustration of A Cultivated Core for the Varney Circle Design Tank and Līhu‘e Lines for the Mayor’s Institute on City Design. From 2023-24, she joined UHCDC as a student assistant to work on the Mālama ‘Āina Plan for HIMB on Moku o Lo‘e. These experiences inform the way she views landscape architeture’s potential influence on environment and place making.
